The printers seem to be almost bulletproof, but the cartridges can be problematic, I suggest not keeping cartridges on hand unless you use a lot of ink, say more than 4 or 5 a year, otherwise the cartridges are "Fresher" at the shops. Some people look at the manufacturing dates and buy accordingly, not a bad practice.
