Judging from the lack of quality of the current stock apps I wouldn't get too excited about the so-called updates anyway. B&N is not a software development company, and they proved that with their current apps. The stock ePub reader is so basic and so flawed as to make it barely usable. Personally B&N can keep their new apps and just update the ePub reader and I will be happy. It is not like Android apps are going to be that good anyway. Few are developed by true professionals and none have to go through a quality check. Everytime I try to surf the web or view an ePub or PDF on my nookcolor I get frustrated. When I do the same tasks on my iPad it simply works, and very elegantly at that. Android is too clunky to ever be that elegant. So at this point I just want a great ePub reader to go with the terrific nookcolor screen. Rooting is not for me as I hate Android. I just want a top notch reader, which is what a $250 nookcolor should be but has yet to become.
