In two recent studies, the likelihood of throat cancer was three times greater in subjects who drank copious amounts of Yerba Maté at any temperature. Previously it was thought that heat was the determining factor.
Personally, I find it impossible to drink less than copious amounts of Yerba Maté once I start: All of the alertness of coffee with a better taste and none of the jitteriness or acidity. Very sad about those studies; perhaps they'll be disproved as more and more are conducted.
Would search for the link but am at work currently and need to get back to editing a manual.

(Guys, this theophyline is the stuff in chocolate that makes you feel sooooo gooood. It's a natural drug that the body releases when you are in love, making you feel sooooo gooood, which is why we crave chocolate when we are depressed!)

Congrats on working out the most obvious short version of my user name instead of complaining about the length. Well done.
Yeah, I think we've bonded over the effects of theophylline. Unlike chocolate, YM was wasn't fattening (or
carbohydratening, for that matter) and I for Juan am really going to miss it.
