The Readiris soft came with some HP printers are bundled version which must work with the HP Solutions Centre... Seems not able to do the job...

BTW, MS Office's Document Imaging also has an OCR function, but it's limited to TIF files. Acrobat Pro can also OCR PDF. Though not quite viable if you don't already have them cause of the prices.
