I tried bluefilereader://fulfill and bluefilereader://download with no success.
Any hints ?

I can open the protected pdf files on my PC with Acrobat Reader.
I use the bluefirereader://nav/transfer technique with my iPod Touch connected to the PC with the book on it. I created a 'Note' on my iPod which contains a 'hotlink':

bluefirereader://nav/transfer

as well as the instructions:

'Pressing' the above hotlink opens Bluefire Reader in Transfer mode, with a set of instructions.
Note the Bluefire instructions & User Name & Password on the Bluefire Transfer screen on your iPhone & leave Bluefire running.

Open a browser on your PC:

http://192.168.2.197:8080

Enter the User Name & Password given on the Bluefire Transfer screen. Browse to the location where the book is stored on your PC & select the desired publication, which will then be loaded onto your iPhone. HTH

Oooops.... just noticed the missing : (s) in the bluefirereader://nav/transfer (s) above. Now corrected.
