A full moon halo is pretty eye striking. Not something you see all the time.
However I think it's because we are such indoor people now. I reckon all our great grandparents saw this stuff regularly. I've read how after the country dance the men would walk the ladies home (as a group). The round trip would have been twenty or thirty miles.
