Sacramento Public Library makes available over 100 pre-loaded Nook Classics for loan.

Thanks to a grant from the California State Library, the Sacramento Public Library now has eReaders available for check out just like other books and materials. More than 100 eReaders will be available with approximately 20 pre-loaded books in different genres on each device, including best sellers, mystery, romance, science fiction/fantasy/horror, and biographies. Non-fiction and Spanish-language books will also be available.
“We believe the Sacramento Public Library is the first in the nation to have this scale of pre-loaded lendable Nook eReaders for library patrons,” said Library Director Rivkah K. Sass. “We are extremely proud to be leading the way for other library systems throughout California and the nation.”
Sacramento Public Library has partnered with Barnes & Noble to provide the classic Nook and content for the devices. As part of the partnership, Barnes & Noble will be offering a series of free in-library training seminars demonstrating how to use the Nook and the many features available on the device.
