I wish there was a place to look at a list of "Things not to do with your Kobo."
Ever since I got my Kobo, I've been keeping a mental list of stuff I should avoid, so my Kobo will be as painless to run as possible. Not using the SD card function is on that list. Lucky for me, I have very simple needs with my Kobo. I only want to read.
