I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I find it very, very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes, I'll admit that I'm a fool for you
Because you're mine, I walk the line

Happy Humpday, everyone! Another Mid-week marvel of sun and blue skies, and I'm off to take some more pictures! My cold refuses to leave, but I refuse to pander to it any longer. So it's hot, hot East India Company's Royal Breakfast tea, a bowl of muesli with yogurt, and I'm off to face the day!

Richard Alpert (Ph.d) was Tim Leary's associate at the Harvard Psychology Dapartment. When Leary turned to LSD, Alpert turned to Eastern Philosophy. While Leary may have had more fun, I think Alpert learned a lot more about life/self/existance. Alpert wrote his first book "Be Here Now" aimed at the Hippy/Flower Child generation, and it completely and irrevocably blew them away in a very positive and optimistic way. It showed them how to live comfortably in an uncomfortable world and was produced as a psychedelic work of art with text (with lots of 'groovy' and 'like wow!' words) going in spirals and whorls, with lots of pictures and flowers and things to keep a hippy happy. Alpert then re-wrote the book in better vocabulary and without artwork, and presented it as a lecture to an auditorium full of Psychologists and Psychiatrists, and was met with an equally positive response. It's a wonderful read and a fantastic way to view life.

I think I posted once about a cough syrup I got from a Chinese man in a dark back alley in Kathmandu, Nepal. I had a severe bronchitis and after one dose of that syrup I nearly jumped of the ' roof of the world' and nearly had to go in rehab.
You wouldn't still have his address, would you?
