It's called Julius Katz Mysteries by Dave Zeltserman. It is actually 2 short stories that were originally published in Ellery Queen Magazine. Kind of a takeoff on the Rex Stout Nero Wolfe/Archie Goodwin works, with the SF twist of "Archie" being some kind of futuristic portable computer. lol. Anyway, it's something a little different.
