I was shocked to find that a colleague of mine was paying £60 a month on pay as you go for his mobile calls, whilst making calls that he could have had with a contract at £20 a month if he had shopped around. Works both ways. You just need to be aware of how many calls/texts and how much data you personally need each month and then seek out the cheapest suitable contract with a network that has decent coverage in your area.
