I wonder if the smaller individual Tuochas are made with Pu Erh that has just begun the aging process and the large touchas are made with Pu Erh that is further along in the process. The smaller Tuochas seem to have more of that strong earthy flavor that I love when the larger ones, even the Shu, tend to be more mellow.
The more mature Shu Pu-Erh the more mellow its flavour, less earthy. That is what I have been told in tea room of Tea House Emporium.
