Since no ebook reader (that I'm aware of) can hold every ebook in existence, that advantage does not exist.

Add to that the fact that I seldom know what I'm going to read beyond the next book, and am always discovering new, unforeseen books that affect that decision, placing more than a few books at a time onto the device offers no advantage unless I suspect I won't be in range of an ebook source for a while. However, it would present one disadvantage by way of making it easier to jump from book to book before finishing them- a habit I am trying to avoid (though some folks may find pleasurable). To each his own.
