I wasn't really expecting you to; I was just hoping that maybe someone else here might have some insight into this device's quirks.
Speaking of which... I just tried "Remove matching books from device", and found that the cover files in the eBooks folder were removed, but the ones in the .thumbnails subfolder weren't. Curiouser and curiouser...
