A screen protector wouldn't help because the reader doesn't use the typical touch screen like cell phones, where you would have to press slightly harder if you used a screen protector. The Sony has an infrared sensor around the frame that detects any movement... even a feather could trigger advancing the page or the dictionary.

And I was outside in a huge garden area with lots of bees already milling about, I swear it wasn't me, it was the area!
