My only issue is I have heard the Sony's don't allow folders in the directory so you end up with just a mega long list of books. Is that the case?
How do all you Sony owners find the navigation/menu system? Easy to use? Intuitive?
Thoughts much appreciated.

P.S: Also, any ideas on the cheapest place to purchase one that will post to Australia?

The Sony is designed to use collections instead of folders. The plus is that with Calibre, you can easily assign tags and series information to the metadata of a book, and Calibre will create collections based on that information. It's sort of a good news/bad news situation. The good news is that the same book can show up in multiple locations, without requiring multiple copies of the book. The bad news is that you can't narrow down your search by looking in more than one collection at a time. If you're looking for something that is in the non-fiction and history collections, you can't narrow down the non-fiction to show you which ones are also history.
If you really just can't live without folders, you can install PRS+ on your reader. The developers of that OS tweak have made it an executable, so all you have to do is plug your reader in to your computer, run the exe file, and follow the instructions. PRS+ retains the collection feature so that you can have the best of both worlds.
The navigation systems are very intuitive and the touch screen makes it super easy to use. I find their navigation system to be the best of any of the readers on the market.
