It was actually pretty funny when he wanted to sit on my sofa to rest for a while and took a towel spontaneously to 'protect' the fabric. I guess he knows me too well

No, armoire is French for cabinet. I think garde-robe is French for wardrobe. But in Dutch we use this word (garderobe) to describe a collection of clothes as well. This is getting a bit complicated
I'm having a latte macchiatto before I finish putting the wardrobe/closet/garde-robe/... together.
