Hmm. That's the second questionable decision we've heard from the 9th circuit recently. Glad I don't live in that jurisdiction.
Of course, the article says the reason the Border Patrol decided to search the computer is that the guy was a registered sex offender, and it turns out they found child pornography. so maybe they knew something we don't. It would be a long line at the border if they just arbitrarily examined every device's contents.
