It's not illegal. It is profoundly, deeply stupid.

They have pissed off their only supplier of a scarce and extremely popular product. Consequently, they will no longer have the opportunity to sell this product, as Apple is under no obligation to continue to provide them with iPads.

Great strategy. BB has some *brilliant* managers.

And while I don't agree with everything that Apple does; in this case they are standing up for the consumer at the expense of the middleman. Good for Apple.
