A novel that gained instant notoriety on its publication in 1894, with characters transparently based on Lord Alfred Douglas and Oscar Wilde. Hardly scandalous today, but still an amusing short comic novel as well as an interesting period piece.
This is a 3.47 by 4.54" PDF (formatted for the Sony reader), reformatted with XeLaTex from the Project Gutenberg plain text. This PG text was an exceptionally good one, with very few typos. But comparing it with Internet Archive scans of 2 early printed editions, one American (D. Appleton, 1894) and one English (Heinemann, 1901), I found that some oddities and inconsistencies of punctuation and spelling, etc, in the former (on which the PG text appears to be based) were corrected in the latter; I incorporated the corrected readings.
