Borders has/had the Kobo Reader, so they could've been in the same position B&N is in, but from what I read, the Kobo Reader just isn't as good as the Nook or Kindle. So it's more than just no-pants book buying that hurt them. What really hurt them was that their transition to e-books was lackluster.
