rootin' the Nook

I go by Besa. My dad bought me a classic Nook, and today my friend and I spent 1 1/2 hours completing the 5-minute process of getting a file in the right place. Now, theoretically, I can gain root access once I install Android SDK...but I had to stop in the middle. I'm worried that when I let it connect to a new network, my Nook will download an update, reversing what I've done so far. I came here to discover if that is the case. If I need to, I can just access it the first time on a network that doesn't have internet access...but if I can save myself the trouble of messing with my network settings again, I'd prefer it. If clue < or = 0 for all users, mine is maybe 0.01...^_^;

Anyway, I'll go see if you've dealt with this issue elsewhere in the forum. If anyone has a link, you could post it as a reply. ()=)

...but hopefully I'll find it before you do. =P
