I think he was only a freshie. People had to walk through this as it got higher after I went through (safely in the car). As you can see it is a long way and around a bend you cannot see the other side of.
Another wet spot further on does contain salties, and I would not walkies through that one. Salties bite harder and are bigger. The one at hells gate is big black and over 15' long.
