As a beginning author (of short stories, right now), I have some sympathy for her. I got my first one-star review a few days ago, and it didn't exactly nourish my soul. But going off on readers is not even close to an acceptable response. The first story I posted on Amazon, I got back feedback that I'd missed a few typos, so I e-mailed the reviewer directly, thanked them, and reposted the story with the typos fixed. Anyone who's had any personal interaction knows that tirades are not the way to win friends and influence people.
