Thanks for the ideas. There seems to be some sort of function in the epub reader that faithfully confines the text to the screen. I'm curious how the epub software does it. (And like you say, the browser handles it differently.)

I'm really just making documents with hyperlinks in them and I want them to take best advantage of the screen, even if the user changes the size of the text.

Perhaps I can specify a 'page' width in pixels in xhtml? Thanks again.
