Have you followed these steps:
Install ADE on computer and authorize it to your Adobe account
Plug in reader and authorize it to the same Adobe ID as you've authorized the computer.
(If the reader was authorized to someone before you, first deauthorize it)
You can use ADE or Sony's Reader Library to manage your library books. You do however have to make sure the PRS-600 is authorized to the right Adobe ID because when you download the library book Adobe will put DRM on it with that Adobe ID.
