Well, there's the shape, and the flame and the molten wax, and I for one can certainly think of a couple different ways to make use of one or more of those aspects for the mutual enjoyment of suitably inclined, consenting adults. But I think a continuation of this train of thought is better suited for Fetlife than this august forum...

I'm... conflicted about it. I like the view into the different mindsets of both long-time and freshly-minted werewolfs. I'm certainly interested in seeing further developments in the lives of both lycanthropes and their friends. So in that aspects, the story is quite good since it makes me care about the protagonists and handles the subject matter in an interesting and engaging way. And let's be frank, the sex is hot, too.

On the other hand, Lupine Dreams has so many flaws that my annoyance at those flaws is threatening to overwhelm the positive aspects. There's the complete lack of explanation for the transmission. There's the 2000 year old werewolf who has somehow managed over all this time to nurse a petulance and emotional immaturity that would put the average eight year old to shame. There's the woman who within two days goes from having found her soul mate in a werewolf to being the poster child for u-haul lesbians everywhere, despite never having entertained any thoughts of homosexuality before. There are all those terribly open-minded law enforcement people in what is elsewhere acknowledged to be a close-minded [edit] Nowhere. It's kinda like the characters don't feel like people so much as puppets on strings dancing to the author's capricious will.

And there were numerous passages I found myself skipping over until the author would return from their current digression and get on with the story already. So, yeah, I both like it and hate it, I guess. :-)
