Answering to five posts simultaneously is quite another thing. You don't like the answers to be in five separate quotes/posts, to me, the following multi-quote in just one post does look even more strange and is not any more readable:

So, in both cases this is not ideal but it's a little bit pointless as you can't reproach someone for answering/refering to five posters.
I would guess that this all is simply a matter of taste and not of bad behaviour.
