The fact remains that mass disconnections is what the BPI wanted, and what the BPI wrote into that law. How likely is it that a) "piracy" will decrease by 70% and make those disconnections unnecessary, or b) that the BPI will change their mind about wanting its best customers (and the rest of their family) disconnected from the internet? I don't know how much the BPI paid in order to be in a position to get to write UK laws to suit its own agenda, but they are likely to want to get their money's worth out of it.
