I like my meals to be ethnic. Just because I live in one country, there is no need to only eat that country's cuisine. We try to eat a different country's food every day (usually dinner) and never have the same country twice in one week, other than Japan. You can take a simple can of red beans, a can of chopped tomatoes, a can of corn, and an onion, and with various spices and herbs, make different tasting dishes tasting as if they come from six or seven different countries, and do it all in 15 minutes! Add a little rice or pasta, perhaps some chicken, shrimp, or ground meat, and have Mexican chili, Cajun jambalaya, Virgina BBQ, African stew (leave out the elephant. Very high in cholesterol,) Australian Baked beans, or a dozen others. All low calorie and almost zero cholesterol, quick and easy to make (15-20 minutes,) and tasty! Not that I want to eat this combo every night, but it certainly fills in when I have little time to cook.

And all of it goes well with tea! Right now I'm drinking a mug of Twining's Prince of Wales. A surprisingly good cup of tea!
