They don't seem to make my 'Favorite' books into movies (yet )

Books I liked that LATER had movies.
Herbert: Dune
Wells: Time Machine (the 1960's version)
Heinlein: Starship Troopers

Movies I liked better than the book:
LOTR (all 3) I just could not get into the books)
