This concerned me too.

I have noticed that the word Kindle is already being widely used as a generic word for eReader. Amazon might like that, but they should beware. I have heard that some companies have lost the right to enforce their brand names because of widespread generic use. Xerox, for example, seems to be concerned about that as they encourage people to call a copier a copier, not a xerox machine.
