FWIW The Program Location and the Library location
should 
be independent.
I wonder if there is a hardcoded assumption that the USER (where the settings are kept) drive and the Program drive ar on the same drive (The library can be on another drive)

Hey! I just found '
KovidsBrain' under Software in the Registry
but no Calibre. With no key, Calibre Installer can't check to see what path might have previously been used.
