So far, no review I've read and nothing on M-Edge's product page talks about this, but I think the fact it's capacitive is self-evident. Even tap lamps use touch-sensor circuitry and the M-Edge Touch, unlike the previous eLuminator2, has a three-setting touch surface instead of a three-position switch.
Something else you might want to know: according to
this review, the e-Luminator Touch is no longer incompatible with non-M-Edge cases.

You can see the clip in most photographs of the light.
I still think the Solis is the prettiest option, though.
