Yeah, it affected my Buddy-cat the same way. He was lounging on the back of my office chair and came down to see where the other cats were. Our cats seem to be rugged individualists. Sinatra and Mooch will go crazy for the laser pointer, but Buddy ignores it. Buddy was fascinated with the cat sounds, but the other two never even twitched an ear.
