But you do quickly get used to it, and the contacts, for me, were both literal and metaphorical revelation. Note, I essentially stopped wearing them, and glasses, because I am chronically lazy. It wasn't because of any inherent problem with the contacts. I've only acquired glasses again just recently, ironically as my short-sightedness has become less of a problem (age and moving out from behind a monitor more often). I'll probably stay with glasses for the aesthetics (i.e. vanity  ).
I hope they work out for you. I think it's a hope with reasonable probability of being satisfied.

Got the contacts today and it wasn't as bad as I thought. They don't bother me at all and it's great to have a full field of view again.
The problem comes with getting them out. I struggled severely to get my right one out, leaving my eye red and irritated from the removal attempts. If I can get that sorted I'm golden. Will see how tomorrow goes.
