Even if Sony step out of the electronic reader market I won't be heartbroken. I don't see any reason to upgrade from my 650. Kartu has provided a firmware upgrade that allows me to use folders, so there's no realistic limit to the amount of books it can hold, it's a nice device and there will I'm sure be UI tweaks from Kartu. The processor in the device is powerful enough for the task and I don't feel delays like I did with the first Cybook Gen3. Finally Sony got things right with the touch screen, and pearl so that it's very readable.
I don't think it's the best device on the market generally speaking, but for me it's easily the best device.
Of course I want them to stay in the market, but I think they need something that does everything the Kindle does, at competitive book prices, but with a much better device than the Kindle, with a touch screen and nicer feel to it. The Kindle is not expensive, I think there's room in the market for something that's much better than it.
