My neighbor's daughter was visiting today and excited as she just bought a Sony Reader for her new hubby's BD, from Costco in Santa Maria, CA. It was $239 plus a $30 rebate = net $209. So she called me to come explain what she bought...Problem is she could not recall the model number. But seriously she had no idea what it could be used for...all she knew was her hubby loves to read and would I come explain it all...
I even took my laptop over to show her this place...
She was thrilled but I did tell her if she paid that much for the 500 she might want to take it back because she got hosed. But if it is a 505 she got a great deal. Problem is they are apparently not on the Costco site anywhere I could find.
Then she asked me what a Kindle was...oy...I din't need THAT can'o'worms!! Over an hour later she no longer could make up her mind...
It was interesting that there is a segment of people who are willing to buy on impulse if the price is @ $200ish. She cringed at the $400 cost of the Kindle.
