Yes.
Just think how long it took to transfer the file
Why not do what has been done before?
Break your book into logical sections, with the first Book, being the introduction and overall TOC, Index (be sure the section# is included if not obvious), whatever else makes sense.
Then make each section with it's own TOC, either duplicate the Index, glossary or cull them to be relevant to the section. Each section needs enough to be
reasonably convenient, with out bloat that causes 'run-away size'
