I just wanted to update you all since i have been on vacation, and haven't had much time to post. As i had a bit more time with the kindle before my trip, i had run into a few issues, that i won't get into in too much detail. Mainly some formatting issues (The way content was displayed) using calibre to convert to mobi. I'm sure i could've worked around this, but thought it wasn't worth the time and effort.
Then there was the bigger issue. The one i thought wouldn't be a dagger, but was. The lack of library book support. In the end i returned the kindle in favor of the nook. And i must admit, i'm really glad i did. I absolutely love the nook. My two biggest concerns, the touchscreen and the speed of the device turned out to be complete non issues. In the store it was something i definitely noticed, but since owning one, I haven't had one single problem with either. I admit, the B&N store isn't as robust as amazon, but coupled with library support, it will be more than sufficient for me.
Thanks all again for all the advice. I really am loving the nook and am finally happy i've been able to settle on one device and be content!
