@camcorderjihad: If you don't have a linkjail folder in the root of your Kindle, yeah, you'll need to update the jailbreak. From the 2 months thing, I'd say just install the latest jailbreak on top, you shouldn't have any trouble. (Worst case scenario, if you had a more rcent jailbreak installed, the install will fail).

@8annika.yael: Which settings?

@JJanssen: If you're packaging the exact same thing and get a different file size, yeah, probably a tar quirk. I've seen this sort of thing happen, for example I was getting slightly different filesizes with tar+gzip on an x86_64 box vs. tar+gzip on another x86 box with the same default settings and input (Assuming you're using the latest python packager script).

[FYI, I'm using tar (GNU tar) 1.26, gzip 1.4, and Python 2.7.1 on a gentoo ~x86 box]

@KindleUp: If you can't figure it out from the scripts, you probably shouldn't be trying to do it.
