On my 600... turn off scan in PRS+ settings and it doesn't scan... SD card has 10K plus books on it... works great with no problem... you may have something else causing your problem with not scanning but I have it working on every PRS reader I own, always turned off in settings...

Well that's my problem, adding .noscan doesn't seem to work which should be normal as I use the 2.x version. But disabling via settings doesn't and the reader hangs with my SDcard. Will give it another try.

Just to be clear:
-"dealing with this at a folder level": May I ask you the interest of this?
-so if understand correctly, still no use of cache.xml when disabled?

Finally, is this something I can mess up with or something in a compiled library?
