Yes, more people would choose Apple if they could afford it, such is the power of advertising. I greatly admire Apple's superior marketing skills, they have a lock on the uninformed users. Why do most people buy Apple products?
1.)They look good
2.)They are easy to use (not a bad thing in itself -- but also the reason there are so many things you can't do with them)
But the funny thing is, most Apple users actually believe they have the best products with the most advanced functionality. This is why we talk about "religion". If Apple users rationally said "my phone looks great and does what I want it to do even though it doesn't do Flash" then nobody would say another word about it. I can't count the times that I have seen iPhone users brag in amazement about some simple thing that their phones can do -- and it usually is something that a Palm or Windows phone could do in 2002 already.
