Sounds like a good read. I don't understand people saying that corporal punishment (spanking) translates to abuse myself. I was spanked as a child when I did something to deserve it and learned not to get into trouble. IMO a spanking (with the empty hand) doesn't cause any real damage and helps set a child straight so they learn that there are boundaries. When the parents hands are tied though then the kids tend to start thinking they can do as they please, and juvenile problems rise as a result.
