Smile managing styles

Hey there,

I got a fresh Kindle 3 due to a defect on my first one. I go between a desktop PC, whispernet (purchases) directly to device, and a laptop to do my collection managing. Most of it is done on my laptop with Calibre, but not with their categorizing system (it does not look as customizable as I'd like; I'm not big on tagging individual files with genre details). I manage manually with numbered collections, such as:
000 - current
100 - school - general
101 - school - linguistic anthropology
102 - school - food and culture
200 - fiction
300 - fantasy/sci-fi
etc.

Since I have to start over with importing my library, I wanted to poke around and see if there are any innovative managing styles folks have come up with in the last couple of months. I tend to be a detail junkie, and would be much happier with a directory tree style rather than a single level.

I don't think I'm quite ready to use a whole separate OS (Duokan), particularly with the quirks that still appear to be happening with it.

I did have my old one jailbroken, with the SS hack, so I don't mind using other jailbreak compatible hacks.

So: any thoughts on library managing techniques? Thanks!
