Re-Install of 2.5.7 or 2.5.8 possible?

I have currently my KindleDXGlobal (B005...) almost bricked. I recieved the 2.5.8 update last week (I noticed because my orientation was set to 'auto'), and since then I can't connect to 3G anymore: less then a minute after I switch on wireless, it will go off again. The bars stay grey this time. Reset (by switch and by menu) didn't work, reset to factory neither. ALT-411 shows normal, but a line is empty, ALT-311 doesn't do anything.

I am not interested in jailbreak or hacks (yet :-)), I just want my 3G working again.

If I copy 2.5.7.bin or 2.5.8.bin to the root, and want to go to 'Update firmware', the menupoint briefly flashes black, but gets grey immediately, and the file is deleted at this moment.

I am in contact with Amazon about this, but they are taking 4 working days already to investigate.

Is there a way to re-install 2.5.7 (and hope that the automatic update to 2.5.8 goes well this time) or 2.5.8 to the Kindle?
