that's one of my cheap husband's tricks. I have a few of those by the way. This is one of the easiest.
She comes home late and tired of a hard day of work in the big and noisy town. To night I made her a really poor dinner: steamed cauliflowers and fried mozzarella and stuffed olives. But I set up a nice table and a half bottle of champagne. So she felt treated as she should. And I had a small cup myself.
I have the good fortune of going to the sea in the same place of a friend of mine who is a producer of the liquid marvel and every year he brings me 36 half bottles for a very good price (last time it was just 7 euros each). I still have the whole load of last year and few from the year before. As I am not drinking anymore, it makes a good choice for casual libations. She likes it and it puts her in a good mood. Lucky me.
The half bottle is the perfect size for two.
