1/. That's by design, I'm assuming people editing the whitelist know what they're doing, and know that they'll have to maintain it themselves after that. If you prefer an auto-detect, use yifanlu's jailbreak, I'm not going to change that (because I don't want to have to unpack the hack to check it, unpacking the fonts hack already takes a truckload of time, and so does unpacking official updates).

2/. Yep, I might add a dos2unix-like step to help, but I'd like to avoid having to do that...

EDIT: Updated whitelists & implemented a workaround for 2/. Packages updated.
