You think computer and electronics companies
don't do that? The only difference is, a tech-savvy person is less likely to be swayed by a midlist brand like Magnavox, and more likely to be swayed by a high-end brand like Bang & Olufsen. Whereas the non-techie may like the B&O, but when he sees the price difference, he'll go for the Magnavox.
