I think you got the really good stuff! I can't drink it at all. I need the low quality green stuff. When I first came to Japan I was taken to the Tea Festival in Uji, world famous for its teas. Each grower had a booth set up along the river to sell their new harvest and let people sample their wares. Knowing my love of tea, I was taken directly to that year's winner to sample the tea... I was really excited!

It was all I could do not to spit it right out! As you said, as bitter as Panadol or worse!
All the high quality teas affect me that way. I've discovered that the lower the quality, the better I like it!
